What is Alpha Testing?
Alpha Testing is a type of acceptance testing that identifies bugs before releasing the software product to customers or the public. The main objective of alpha testing is to refine the software product by finding and fixing the bugs discovered.
Alpha testing is simulated or actual operational testing by potential users/customers or an independent test team at the developers' site. Alpha testing is often employed for off-the-shelf software to form internal acceptance testing before the software goes to beta testing.
